PRESIDENT PUTIN HEADS TO VICTORY IN RUSSIAN ELECTION, GETS 76.6 PERCENT VOTES
MOSCOW, Russia – President of Russia, Vladimir Putin is cruising home to victory in Russian election held on Sunday. So far, Putin has recorded 76.6 percent of total vote cast, local media have reported and that Putin seems set to be elected for another term of six years.
“On the night of 18 to 19 March 2018 Russian regions are processing the records of district election commissions and inputting the voting results”, Central Electoral Commission of the Russian Federation said in a statement.
Deputy Chairperson of the CEC of Russia Nikolay Bulayev said the input speed is way higher than during the 2012 presidential election in Russia.
“At 00:30 19 March over 75 percent of DEC records with voting results has been uploaded. Volga Federal District is in the lead with the largest number of ballots and records put into the GAS Vybory system. Saratov Region and Udmurt Republic have processed over 95 percent of records with voting results,” Nikolay Bulayev said.
He also noted that the speed of entering of final records of election commissions is one of the factors of public confidence in the election campaign as a whole, and called on all electoral commissions to put in final records accurately and promptly.
