“Too much carbohydrates is not beneficial to the body. Though, we cannot avoid it completely but we should try to balance our food with lots of vegetables and fruits to achieve good health.”

The First Lady who assured the elders of her support and love, lauded the organisers of the programme for thinking through to put together such an event to celebrate and encourage the elderly, appealed to all in the society to make the care of octogenarians a priority.

Earlier in his lecture, Prof Oluwole Omosuyi who spoke on Effective Sleep Tips To Older Adults explained the importance of healthy sleeping habit to the general well being of elderly.

One of the founder of the association, Mr. Moses Adedipe who spoke on the title “Why We Are Here” revealed that the passion for less privilege in the country started in America after discovering that many Nigerians needed assistance.

“We have diverse group of Africans partnering with us and the aim is to meet the basic needs of the poor, widow, orphan, homeless and the less privilege. To eradicate poverty in the society without depending on the government because government cannot provide every need of the citizens. That is why we are partnering with people, companies organisations who can build schools, hospitals, repair our roads so that we can team up to bring good life to our people.”

Mr Adedipe described the organisation as Non Governmental Association (NGO) apolitical and non religious organization that only work with people who can assist to eradicate poverty and give good life to the masses.

The co-founder further appealed to Nigerians to be patriotic and stop maligning the image of the country as he added that Nigerians occupy most top positions in America hence, the need to promote our nation.
