I KILL DEPRESSION WITH MY MY MUSIC, SAYS JESSE RAEY OF NIGERIAN IDOLS
LAGOS, Nigeria – Afro-pop and RnB singer, Jesse Raey, top 8 finalist of Nigerian Idols season 4 says his music is a depression killer.
He said that listening to his music was a good way to get off from any kind of depression because his lyrics are highly inspirational and soul-lifting.
Jesse Raey who has been off the scene pursuing his educational career said he is coming back with a big bang and his fans should watch out.
The afro-pop singer reiterated that his music cuts across board so the young, old, middle-aged can sing to it and swing to it.
“My song cuts across board and touches all aspects of human life and trust me you can’t listen to my song and not get lifted for it is a rich blend of the many sounds that makes me who I am,” Jesse Raey said.
The singer is currently working on some singles which will drop soon. Jesse Nwachukwu Okonkwo (born March 26), is better known by his stage name Jesse Raey, is a Nigerian singer, songwriter, record producer. Jesse Raey was born in the city of Lagos but hails from Anambra state.
At age 19, he formed a two-piece Afro-pop and R&B band “Jaykaycez” in 2008. The band released their first track “Garri” in November 2010 which they performed at the 10th year Anniversary Award Night for Success Digest Magazine/Complete sports Newspaper, raising Jaykaycez profile in the Nigerian music scene. In January 2011, Jaykaycez released another single “The things you do” that found playtime on local radio stations, further increasing awareness of the group.
In 2012, they went solo due to distance and educational pursuits. Jesse Raey then competed in Nigerian idol’s fourth season and emerge top 8 in 2014.
Jesse Raey is a graduate of Lagos state University (LASU) with a degree in Economics.
