OGHARA, Delta, Nigeria – Former Governor of Delta State, Chief James Onanefe Ibori today arrived his country home in Oghara, Delta State with thousands of people lining the streets to receive him.
The former governor who just rounded up his jail term in the United Kingdom was welcomed by every
Tom, Dick and Harry. The former governor arrived in convoy of vehicles with many waiting to have a glimpse of the Kingmaker of Delta State.
He has been very influential in the making of governors, especially the two that succeeded him, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan and Ifeanyi Okowa, current governor.
His plane had earlier on touched down in Abuja and thereafter headed to the office of the Director of the Department of State Security Service, DSS, Mr. Lawal Daura.
Director General of DSS, Mr. Daura told reporters that the meeting was to debrief him on way forward.
“He met me for a short debriefing session and way forward; also, to welcome him back to his fatherland. We are also meeting soon to discuss issues of interest affecting the nation,” he said.
