Taipei, Oct 29, 2016 – Taipei, the capital city of Taiwan was agog today as gay groups, including lesbians, gay, bisexual and transgender group took to the street in wild demonstration of their sexuality.

Many of those who attended the parade wore hats of a Pokemon character, including swimsuits, wedding dresses and loin cloths, carried placards and marched to the presidential palace calling on the government to legalise same sex marriage.
The ruling Democratic Progressive Party (DPP), which controls Taiwan’s parliament is seen to be sympathetic to the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community.
President Tsai Ing-wen, has also voiced her support for same-sex marriage and parliament is expected to consider fresh proposals on the issue soon.
If parliament passes the gay law, Taiwan will become the first Asian country to legalise same-sex marriage.
Earlier this week, the DPP announced new measures to allow homosexual employees the same honeymoon leave and wedding gift entitlement that heterosexual couples get.
“The call for marriage equality feels stronger than last year.
“We hope same-sex marriage can be realised as soon as possible so our child can have two legal moms’’, Corinne Chiang, an IT specialist said.
