USA, August 13, 2016 – American R&B singer and actor, Marquis Barrett Houston was today baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses.
He was baptised today at the Remain Loyal to Jehovah Regional Convention of Jehovah’s Witnesses in New Orleans, United States.
His baptism formally makes him one of Jehovah’s Witnesses. Describing his feelings after baptism, Houston wrote on his Instagram page, “8/13/16. The best day of my life!!! I got baptized today. I’ve never been this happy.# Jehovah My God, thank you for allowing me the privilege to be one of your Witnesses now. #Day Two #Remain Loyal to Jehovah Convention’’, he said immediately after the baptism, adding that he couldn’t believe he was shedding tears during the event.
He had prior to this development dedicated his life to the service of Jehovah. The baptism is the symbol of his dedication before members of the public.
Born August 4, 1981 to Michael and Carolyn Houston in California, Los Angeles. He is an R&B singer, rapper, songwriter and actor. He started singing at a very early age and formed the R&B group, Immature/IMX later on in his career.
He was very active between 1992 – 2001 and 2010 (Immature/IMX). He became an actor in 1990 but went solo as a singer in 2003.
He débuted on the acting scene in 1992 with the animated Comedy film, Bebe’s Kids. He was also in House Party 3 where he featured as Romeo. He was also in Good Burger, a spinoff from a sketch in the Nickelodeon show, ‘All That’, Somebody Help Me 2 and Battlefield America.
