Nigeria, July 8, 2016- The Niger Delta Avengers said it has blown up Chevron facilities in the region.
The group which said it carried out the facility on Wednesday said the affected facility is Chevron Manifolds RMP 22, 23 and 24, adding that the attack was carried out between 10:50 pm and 11:10 pm.

The Niger Delta Avengers has carried out several attacks on oil facilities in the region and in the process reducing Nigeria’s total oil production output. The operation has also been blamed for epileptic power supply and even crippling IPPs in Lagos and other areas.

“Between the hours of 10:50pm to 11:10pm our (Niger Delta Avengers) strike team blew up Chevron Manifolds. the manifolds are RMP 22, 23 and 24”, the group said in a statement signed by its spokesman, Brig. Gen. Mudoch Agbinibo.

The Niger Delta Avengers claim to be agitating for development of the Niger Delta and has severally called on President Muhammadu Buhari to personally visit the region to see the level of devastation and economic deprivation.

They have also made a number of demands including readiness to dialogue with the Nigerian government for a lasting peace in the region. However in his Eid-el-Fitri message earlier this week, President Muhammadu Buhari vowed to speedily end economic sabotage in the Niger Delta region.
