TANK FARM OWNERS GET 90 DAYS ULTIMATUM TO BUILD BAY OR BE SHUT
November 6, 2015 – The Lagos State Government has given the 42 Tank Farm owners in Apapa, Lagos State 90 days to build loading bay for their trucks or be forced to shut down operation.
Lack of loading bay and parking lots has forced petroleum tankers to park along the road, leading to nauseating traffic jam in the axis.
Governor Akinwunmi Ambode gave the order after an emergency security council involving all the relevant stakeholders to deliberate on the traffic situation and insecurity in the state.
The governor said that he met with Tank Farm owners three months ago and instructed them to look for solution to perennial traffic gridlocks in Apapa but that up till now, the tank farm owners have not deemed it fit to get back to him.
He also advised the tank farm owners to desist from allocating loading offers more than what those involved have capacity to deal with.
The governor also said at the state government has resolved to fully enforce traffic laws in the state to bring sanity to Lagos roads. Details later.
