June 3, 2015 – Lagos State Government will, on Friday 5th June, 2015 join the rest of the World to mark the year 2015 World Environment Day with the theme: ‘’Seven Billion dreams, One Planet. Consume With Care.’’
A release issued by the Ministry of the Environment said the World Environment Day would be marked simultaneously in the five Divisions of Ikeja, Badagry, Ikorodu, Lagos Island and Epe.
It stated that Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode is expected as Special Guest of Honour at the Ikeja Division event which would hold at the Blue Roof, LTV 8, Lateef Jakande Road, Agidingbi, Ikeja.
The Deputy Governor, Dr. Idiat Oluranti Adebule will be standing in for the Governor at the Lagos Island Division scheduled to hold at Onikan Stadium, while Senator Oluremi Tinubu will stand in be on hand at Ikorodu Town Hall venue of the Ikorodu Division.
Also Senator Gbenga Ashafa will represent the Governor at Odo Obara High School, Epe, while the Secretary to the State Government, Mr. Tunji Bello will be at Badagry Town Hall, Badagry to represent the Governor.
Members of the State House of Assembly, Executive Secretaries of
the 57 Local Government and Local Council Development Areas, members of Body of Permanent Secretaries, Market Men and Women, School Children, Environment Ambassadors, among others are also expected at the event.
