MADRID — In a breathless evening of LaLiga football at the Campo de Fútbol de Vallecas, Rayo Vallecano held off a fiery second-half surge from Espanyol to secure a thrilling 2-1 victory. The match was defined by a rapid-fire opening period from the hosts, driven by a star performance from winger Álvaro García, who scored one and created another before the Catalan visitors mounted a relentless fightback.
The electric atmosphere inside Vallecas set the stage for an explosive start, and Rayo Vallecano wasted no time taking control.
