YENAGOA— THE Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Dr. Samuel Ogbuku, has emerged as the new Paramount Ruler of Ayakoro Community in Ogbia Local Government Area of Bayelsa State.
Following his coronation, Dr. Ogbuku has assumed the traditional title of Daufa VI. His emergence was in strict accordance with the provisions of the Ayakoro Community Constitution, coming six months after the demise of the former Paramount Ruler.
Before his elevation to the throne, Ogbuku had served as the Deputy Paramount Ruler of the community.
The seamless transition process was conducted under the direct supervision of the Bayelsa State Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs. The exercise also produced Chief Micha Itekesi as the new Deputy Paramount Ruler of the community.
Speaking shortly after his installation, the newly crowned monarch and NDDC boss described the historic moment as one that transcends titles, positions, and public office. According to him, the throne represents the community’s deep appreciation for his years of dedicated service and unwavering commitment to its growth and well-being.
Ogbuku noted that the absolute confidence reposed in him by the people of Ayakoro serves as a profound reminder that genuine service, sacrifice, and dedication to the welfare of the masses will always be rewarded.
”May God grant us wisdom, patience, courage, and clarity. We pray that our reign will bring peace, unity, dignity, and greater progress to Ayakoro Community,” Ogbuku stated.
Pledging to lead his people with humility, dedication, and integrity, the traditional ruler sought divine guidance in discharging his new responsibilities.
He expressed strong optimism that his reign would usher in an era of greater peace, unity, dignity, and sustainable development for the community.
While thanking the people of Ayakoro for the trust placed in him, the NDDC Chief Executive assured them of his total commitment to working hand-in-hand with all critical stakeholders to build a stronger, more prosperous, and united community for future generations.
