LAGOS — The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has found itself at the center of a raging political storm following its decision to appoint controversial social media personalities Theo Abu Agada and Brian Dennis to lead its Media and Communications Department.
The appointments have triggered an immediate and ferocious rebellion from the “Obidients”—the formidable, youth-driven support base of Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi—who view the move as a direct declaration of war against their movement.
In a series of coordinated responses, key factions of the Obidient structure formally rejected the appointments, warning that the party is alienating its most crucial voting bloc ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Nefertiti Breaks Silence with Blistering Critique
Adding significant fuel to the fire, prominent social media influencer and ardent Peter Obi supporter, Nefertiti, broke her long-standing silence on the NDC’s internal affairs.
In a scathing, highly charged statement released on X (formerly Twitter), she accused the NDC leadership of “disdain” for the Obidient movement, characterizing the appointments as an act of political vendetta rather than a strategy to win hearts and minds.
”Theo Abu and Brian Dennis are misfits,” Nefertiti stated unequivocally. “Who appoints political jobbers to run their Media? Boys without a modicum of reputation… They are pariahs as far as Political Twitter is concerned.”
Nefertiti revealed that both appointees have been nestled on her blocked list since the bitter 2023 election cycle, asserting that they possess “zero electoral value” and cannot even win their own polling units.
She emphasized that the duo’s track record of anti-Peter Obi rhetoric makes their appointment an insult to the millions of citizens trying to build a new political paradigm in Nigeria.
