A RUSSIAN General has narrowly survived a “terrorist” assassination attempt after a Ukrainian-backed hitman opened fire with a silenced pistol.
Lieutenant General Vladimir Alekseyev—a high-ranking military official—was struck at least three times in the brazen daylight hit. Investigators in Moscow claim the shooter was a “deep-cover agent” acting on direct orders from Kyiv’s special services.
The General was targeted with a suppressed Makarov pistol, a signature weapon of Soviet-era design often used by intelligence operatives.
Despite being hit multiple times, Alekseyev survived the encounter, sparking a massive domestic manhunt across Russia.
The Russian Investigative Committee confirmed today they have moved to dismantle the alleged “assassination cell” responsible for the hit.
Authorities have named the alleged shooter as a man originally from the Ternopol region of Ukraine, who had successfully obtained Russian citizenship to move freely within the country.
Viktor Vasin: Detained by security forces and charged with the attempted murder of a serviceman and illegal firearms trafficking.
Zinaida Serebritskaya: Named as a key accomplice.
Russian officials say she managed to slip through the dragnet and has FLED back across the border into Ukraine.
Moscow has branded the incident a “Terror Attack,” alleging that the suspects were on a specific assignment from Ukrainian intelligence to decapitate the Russian military leadership.
The Investigative Committee stated:
”The perpetrator was acting on a direct assignment from Ukrainian special services to commit a terror attack against a high-ranking officer of the Russian Armed Forces.”
This assassination attempt is the latest in an intensifying shadow war being fought far behind the front lines of the conflict in Ukraine.
Lieutenant General Alekseyev is a significant figure in the Russian military hierarchy.
While Moscow remains tight-lipped about his specific duties, his rank suggests he holds a pivotal role in the ongoing invasion.
Targeting high-level commanders has become a hallmark of the conflict. Ukraine has frequently utilized “partisan” networks and elite special forces to strike at the heart of the Kremlin’s command structure, aiming to demoralize Russian forces and disrupt the chain of command.
