[wysija_form id=”1″]March 10, 2015 – Not less than 30 people have been killed in pre-election violence in Rivers State. Governorship candidate of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Mr. Dakuku Peterside made the revelation in Port Harcourt at a meeting with Chairman of the National Human Rights Commission (NHEC), Professor Chidi Odinkalu.
Pre-election Violence Claims 30 in Rivers State
Dakuku said the 30 people were killed in about two local governments in pre-election violence adding that violence was not an option in the election.
Also speaking at the meeting, Governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) in the state, Mr. Nyesom Wike said he is ready for a free and fair election in the state.
Odinkalu who said he visited to obtain information about political killings and orgy of violence in the state expressed sadness over political killings and proliferation of arms in the state ahead of the elections.
