ACCRA, Ghana – AFRICA is about to get a massive dose of rap royalty as a historic new music festival launches to celebrate the global dominance of hip-hop.

The Talking Drums Festival is set to explode onto Ghana’s vibrant capital, Accra, for a massive two-day, non-stop party at the end of December.

Organisers are promising an epic showcase of rhythm, culture, and unity, with over 40 artists flying in from the US, UK, and across Africa to perform.

Tens of thousands of fans from the African diaspora and across the globe are expected to descend on the city for the landmark event on December 29th and 30th, 2025.

While the massive, star-studded lineup is still under wraps—with an announcement expected “in the coming days”—fans are already signing up in droves for what promises to be one of the biggest music moments of the year.

Ruddy Kwakye, Executive Producer of the festival, stated that the event will celebrate the colossal impact of the music.

“For over 50 years, Hip-hop has influenced not just music fans but many other creative industries,” he said.

“The Talking Drums Festival will celebrate this impact by uniting the infectious cadence of the sound with the energy of the performers… to showcase its connection to Africa and of course its global dominance.”

The festival isn’t just a concert—it’s part of a huge push by the Ghanaian government to connect with the global Black diaspora.

It’s partnered with the Black Star Experience, a national initiative that builds on the acclaimed Beyond the Return campaign, which invites people of African heritage to reconnect with the continent.

Rex Owusu Marfo, the Presidential Coordinator for the initiative, said Ghana is the “ideal host” for the global celebration.

“Ghana’s esteemed reputation as the Culture Capital of Africa… has firmly established it as a prominent destination for global experiences,” he emphasised.

Fans keen to grab tickets and exclusive festival perks should head to www.TalkingDrums.Live right now to sign up for priority access. Get ready to party!
