GAZA, Palestine – The Islamic Resistant Movement, Hamas has released two of the six Israeli captives to the International Committee of the Red Cross, ICRC scheduled.
The two Avera Mengistu and Tai Shoham were released at the Al-Nuseirat Camp in the Gaza Strip.
Confirming the incident, Spokesman of the Israeli Defence Forces, IDF, Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari said two Returning Hostages Have Just Been Transferred to IDF and ISA Forces in the Gaza Strip.
He added that the two returning hostages are currently being accompanied by IDF special forces and ISA forces on their return to Israeli territory, where they will undergo an initial medical assessment.
He said the commanders and soldiers of the Israel Defense Forces salute and embrace the returning hostages as they make their way home to the State of Israel.
The IDF Spokesperson’s Unit asks everyone to respect the privacy of the returning hostages.
He said the IDF is prepared to receive additional hostages who are due to be transferred to the Red Cross in the near future.
Few minutes later, the IDF said the two Returning Hostages – Avera Mengistu and Tal Shoham – Have Arrived at the Initial Reception Point in Southern Israel
The statement added that the IDF officers from the Personnel Directorate and IDF medical officials are accompanying the returning hostages, and they will undergo an initial medical assessment and be reunited with their families.
Hagari noted that IDF representatives are accompanying their families waiting at the hospital and updating them with the latest available information.
He added that the IDF is prepared to receive additional hostages who are due to be transferred to the Red Cross in the near future.
