Gaza: UN warns Trump, forced displacement is ethnic cleansing

NEW YORK – The United Nations, UN has sounded a note of warning to President Donald Trump that any forced displacement of Palestinians would tantamounts to ethnic cleansing.

The Secretary General of the UN, Antonio Guterres gave the warning at the UN following threats by Trump to take over the Gaza Strip and turn it into a Reviera for the Middle East.

Trump spoke while addressing a press conference with visiting Prime Minister of Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu.

Netanyahu acknowledged that Trump has taken discussions on Gaza Strip to a new level.

But in a swift reaction, Gutteres urged President Donald Trump to avoid actions that could amount to “ethnic cleansing” in Gaza, following Trump’s proposal for Palestinians to resettle elsewhere while the U.S. takes control of the war-ravaged enclave.

As he puts it, “In the search for solutions, we must not make the problem worst.

” It is vital to stay true to the bedrock of international law. It is essential to avoid any form of ethnic cleansing,” Guterres stated during the UN committee meeting.
