JEDDAH – The Organisation of Islamic Cooperation(OIC) has commended the ceasefire agreement on the Gaza Strip held in Qatar.
In a statement, H.E. the Secretary-General of OIC, Mr. Hissein Brahim Taha said he welcomed the ceasefire agreement on the Gaza Strip.
He expressed his hope that this would lead to a permanent and comprehensive cessation of the Israeli aggression, the return of the displaced to their homes, the withdrawal of the Israeli occupation forces, and the provision of adequate and unhindered humanitarian assistance to all parts of the Gaza Strip.
The Secretary-General called on the international community to assume its responsibilities to implement the relevant UN resolutions on the Palestinian cause, leading to an end to the Israeli occupation and enabling the Palestinian people to regain their legitimate rights, including the establishment of their sovereign independent state on the 1967 borders with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital.
