GAZA, Palestine – The Israeli Defence Forces, IDF raised the tally by one, the total number of journalists it has killed in desperate quest to cover up their atrocities in the Gaza Strip since Israel launched a full scale war of extermination in Palestine.

The latest casualty being Ahmed Abu Shariah.

Ahmed Abu Shariah is the son of Yousef Abu Shariah, the photojournalist to the late leader of the Palestinian Liberation Organisation, PLO, Mr. Yasser Arafat.

The assassination of Ahmed Abu Shariah brings the total toll of journalists that the Benjamin Netanyahu led IDF killed since October 7th 2023 to 189.

Ahmed Abu Shariah, 32-year-old was reported killed on Tuesday in an Israeli artillery shelling of his home in the Sabra neighborhood of Gaza City.

He has left behind a wife and two children.

Deliberately targeting journalists in any situation is a crime under the Geneva convention.

Article 79 under the Geneva convention formally states that journalists engaged in dangerous professional missions in zones of armed conflict are civilians within the meaning of Article 50 (1) and consequently enjoy the full scope of protection granted to civilians under international humanitarian law.

“Journalists are thus protected both against the effects of hostilities and against arbitrary measures taken by a party to the conflict when they fall into that party’s hands, either by being captured or being arrested”, says the International Committee for the Protection of Journalists. But Israel has continued to act in defiance of all international laws.
