Israel eliminates Dweig, Hezbollah commander as rockets hits Tel Aviv killing one, many injured

TEL AVIV – The Israeli Defence Forces, IDF has announced that it eliminated Tawfiq Dweig, the Hezbollah commander in charge of medium-range rocket array just as the resistant continued to launch a barrage of rockets into Tel Aviv, Israel, killing at least one person and several injured.
The person killed by the rockets has been identified as an Arab Muslim woman. In a statement, Spokesman of the IDF, Read Admiral Daniel Hagari said he was eliminated on Monday with the direction of IDF intelligence.
He said Ali Tawfiq Dweiq, was killed in the area of Kfar Jouz in southern Lebanon.
“Dweiq commanded the medium-range rocket array since September 2024, replacing the previous commander who was eliminated. Dweiq was responsible for the launch of over 300 projectiles toward the State of Israel, including toward Haifa and central Israel”, he said, adding that over the past few months, the IDF struck dozens of terrorist infrastructure sites used by Hezbollah’s medium-range rocket array, including launchers that were aimed toward the State of Israel, weapons storage facilities and additional terrorist infrastructure.
“These eliminations are part of IDF efforts to degrade Hezbollah’s rocket launching array and its capabilities to fire rockets toward the State of Israel”, he said, and that the 98th Division conducted targeted raids based on precise intelligence against a central Hezbollah stronghold in southern Lebanon.
According to him, the forces are operating to remove threats to civilian communities in northern Israel.
“In coordination with the IAF, the troops have so far struck dozens of targets in the terror stronghold that were used to fire rockets into Israel, command centers, weapons storage facilities, and observation posts”, he added.
Meanwhile, Hezbollah has continued to launch barrage of rockets into Tel Aviv, Israel setting some buildings on fire. We gathered at least one person was killed and several injured in the latest barrages of rockets that made impact in Tel Aviv.
