LAGOS, Nigeria – A Lagos filmmaker, Yomi Fabiyi has called for arrest of Wunmi Cynthia Aloba over the online confession made by her elder sister, Karimot on circumstances surrounding the death of Afrobeat singer, Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba better known as Mohbad.
In a statement, Fabiyi said the Police should as a matter of urgency arrest Wunmi Cynthia Aloba, Mohbad’s widow owing to self-confession and sensitive information released by her elder sister, Karimot.
According to him, the rule of law is sacrosanct and that criminal investigation must begin to unravel circumstances surrounding sudden demise of the musician.
“This ought to be the right thing the police should do under normal circumstances, especially in a case tilting towards homicide. It would not be nice if this snowballed into a serious heavy reaction from aggrieved family member and #justiceformohbad campaigners”, he said.
He said it seems anybody’s child can be killed and if the killer has connections, the justice system may look away.
“I joined #justiceformohbad with my genuine heart and in recognition of my civil social responsibility to my country, society next person”, he said, stressing that looking away or going less concerned now will be classless, wicked, hypocritical and crime against his personal integrity and the quest for justice.
“Posterity won’t be nice to me and my conscience will always arrest me”, he said.
