25 killed, dozens injured as Israel bombs shelters for displaced Palestinians
GAZA – Not less than 25 civilians have been killed by the Israeli Defence Forces,IDF in horrific bombings across the Gaza Strip in the last 24 hours.
At least two schools housing displaced Palestinians came under IDF attacks resulting in not less than 25 deaths, while several others were injured.
In a statement, the Government Media office in Gaza said among the schools hit are the Hassan Salameh School and the Al-Nasr school, bringing the total number of schools bombed by Israel to 172.
“Among these centers, 152 schools are filled with displaced people, including government schools and schools run by the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA).
“The number of martyrs who have fallen inside these schools exceeds 1040”, the statement added, stressing that these continuous massacres are part of the ongoing crimes against Palestinian people for the tenth consecutive month.
“It is noteworthy that the “israeli” occupation army is heavily focused on targeting and bombing civilian displaced people inside schools and generally targeting gatherings of displaced civilians, especially in areas that the occupation claims to be “safe.”
“This is according to a planned strategy aimed at deliberate killing and causing the highest possible number of civilian casualties”.
The office noted that the massacres occur amid the collapse of the healthcare system, the destruction and burning of hospitals, taking them out of service, the immense pressure on medical teams and remaining operating rooms, the shortage of medical supplies, the closure of crossings preventing the travel of the injured and sick, and the catastrophic humanitarian and health conditions.
“We strongly condemn the “israeli” occupation’s horrific massacres against civilians and the alignment of the American administration with the occupation in the genocide crime.
“We hold the “israeli” occupation and the American administration fully responsible for the continuation of these massacres against the displaced and civilians.
“We call on the international community, the United Nations, various international organizations, and all free countries of the world to pressure the “Israeli” occupation and the American administration to stop the genocide war and halt the ongoing waterfall of blood in the Gaza Strip”.
