Jigawa State Governor imposes 24 hours curfew

DUTSE – The Jigawa State Government has imposed 24 hours curfew in the state as a result of violence arising from the #EndBadGovernance and hunger protest.
Governor Umar Namadi said although the people have rights to protest, government can no longer continue with the protest as a result of violence.
He said children are by used by organizers to achieve their purpose to damage and steal government properties.
He said it is now clear that protest will not solve the problem of hunger but Allah.
He said the curfew will be relaxed at 2 pm to allow people to pray but that the curfew will return thereafter.
The governor said government will review the curfew as events unfolds.
