NEW YORK – There is uproar in Israel following the decision of the United Nations to add the Israeli Defence Forces, IDF to the blacklist of countries and organisations that harm children globally.
Reacting to the development, Israel’s Ambassador to the UN, Gilad Erdan said the decision was simply outrageous and wrong, noting that Hamas has been using children for terrorism and uses schools and hospitals as military compounds.
“I responded to the shameful decision and said that our army is the most moral in the world. The only one being blacklisted is the Secretary-General who incentivizes and encourages terrorism and is motivated by hatred towards Israel. The Secretary-General should be ashamed of himself!”, he said.
Prime Minister of Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu reacted this way. “Today the UN added itself to the black list of history when it joined those who support the Hamas murderers. The IDF is the most moral army in the world; no delusional UN decision will change that”, he said.
The UN took the decision following the indiscriminate way the IDF has gone about the way on Gaza with reports of daily killing of innocent children. Till date, the IDF has killed almost 15,000 children since October 7 when Israel invaded Gaza in revenge for the decision of Hamas to kill 1,300 Israelis at a musical festival in Israel.
Till date it has been attacking UN schools where innocent people, including women and children are sheltering with tales of bloodshed everyday.
