SPAIN  – Head Coach of Spain’s Women Team, Jorge Vilda  has been sacked by the Spanish Football Federation(SFF), following the row involving kissing of  the captain of the Spanish female team Jennifer Hermoso in the mouth by President of the SFF, Luis Rubiales who is now on suspension.

Luis Rubiales(46) hugged Hermoso(33) tightly and later kissed her in the mouth like lovers.

The coach who led his team to lift the gold medal at the FIFA Women World Cup became embroiled in controversy after Luis Rubiales  kissed captain of the Spanish Women Team, Jenifer Hermoso  in the mouth without her consent.

Since the incident, Luis Rubiales had been under pressure to resign but he insisted that he will  not resign and that he has done so much for Spanish football and that he should not be rewarded in that way.  He was however suspended.

Even the girls  tutored to the World Cup also said they will not play any other  game unless Luis Rubiales leaves. But Jorge Vilda had attempted to explain and minimise the incident.

But women groups continued to speak up against the troubling kiss, describing it as nothing but an assault and sexual harassment.

Speaking after the incident, Jennifer Hermoso said her ability to celebrate the world cup victory was cut short by the incident: “While it is true that I do not want to interfere with the multiple legal processes, I feel obliged to report that Mr. Luis Rubiales’ words, explaining the unfortunate incident are categorically false and part of the manipulative culture that he himself has generated.

“I want to make clear that a no time did the conversation to which Mr. Luis Rubiales referred to in his address take place,  and above all was his kiss ever consensual. I want to reiterate as I did before that I did not like this incident.
