Zelensky to sack defence minister as RAF destroys nearly a column of UAF

 

KIEV – President of Ukraine, Vladimir Zelensky has threatened to sack Defence Minister,  Alexey Reznikov.

Zelensky made the outburst as Russian Armed Forces, RAF destroyed nearly a column of Ukraine Armed Forces, UAF in the Kupyansk area.

Zelensky said on Sunday  that he will replace the minister with Rustem Umerov.

“I have decided to change the Ukrainian defense minister,” he said in a video address posted on his Telegram channel.

 “I think that the ministry needs new approaches and other formats of communication with both the military and society in general. Now, the ministry should be headed by Rustem Umerov. 

“The Ukrainian Verkhovna Rada (parliament – TASS) knows this man very well and Mr. Umerov needs no additional introductions. I expect parliament to support this candidature”, Zelensky said. 

In the Kupyansk area, Russia’s Battlegroup West (BW) destroyed nearly a company of Ukrainian troops in the Kupyansk direction, BW Spokesman Sergey Zybinsky told The Russian news agency, TASS.

“Air defense forces destroyed two Furia and Valkyrie aircraft-type unmanned aerial vehicles, using the Tor air defense system near the localities of Tavolzhanka and Nikolayevka. The enemy lost nearly a company as well as a pickup truck and a minivan,” he said.

In addition, Zybinsky said, a US-made M777 towed howitzer and two mortar crews were wiped out in counter battery fire near the settlements of Sheikovka and Krakhmalnoye
