August 29, 2014 – As part of efforts to win the heart of Igbo community in Lagos State ahead of the 2015 general elections, the Lagos State Government during the week held a meeting with members of Igbo Coalition in the All Progressive Congress (APC).
We gathered that the meeting was put together by sons of Igbo in Fashola’s government, Pastor Ben Akabueze who is Commissioner for Budget and Mr. Joe Igbokwe who presently heads the Lagos State Infrastructure Maintenance and Regulatory Agency (LASIMRA).
The meeting came after the last one the governor held with Aka Ikenga in Lagos wherein he apologized to Igbo community for the action he took in deporting some indigene of Igbo who are resident in Lagos.
We gathered that the recent meeting was put together by government to appease Igbo community in Lagos to vote for the APC during the election. Chief Chris Ekwilo led members of the community to the Lagos State Government House where the meeting was held.
