LONDON, England – Late Queen of Britain was today laid to rest in a very solemn occasion. She was laid to rest in the Royal Vault at St Georges Chapel, Windsor Castle ahead of private burial by her family.
It was a solemn ceremony well attended by heads of state around the world and the Commonwealth.
Queen Elizabeth II is the longest serving British monarch in the United Kingdom. She ascended the throne in February 6, 1952 when she was 27 and reigned for 70 years.
She died the same week she invited British Prime Minister, Liz Truss to form government after the resignation of Boris Johnson. She died at Balmoral Castle while she was on holiday. She was 96 years old.
In his sermon, the Archbishop of Canterbury said the late Queen touched “a multitude of lives” during her 70-year reign.
Her death in a way turned the UK into a tourism of sort with all the hotels and guest houses nearby fully booked as hundreds of Britons and well wishers visited to pay their last respect to the queen, with queues extending beyond two miles.
