Olukayode Ariwoola sworn in as Acting CJN
ABUJA, Nigeria – President Muhammadu Buhari today sworn in Justice Olukayode Ariwoola as acting Chief Justice of Nigeria, CJN.
He was sworn in at the Presidential villa following the resignation of former CJN, Justice Muhammad Tanko, for health reasons.
Ironically, the acting CJN was among the four justices of the Supreme Court that delivered the infamous judgment that brought Senator Hope Uzodinma to power.
He was one of the 7th justices that sat on the matter brought before it by Senator Hope Uzodinma and the All Progressive Congress, APC in 2019 against the Hon. Emeka Ihedioha, PDP and INEC that made Senator Hope Uzodinma the governor of Imo State after coming 4th in the 2019 general election.
Other Members of the Supreme Court that sat in that matter were the former CJN, Tanko Mohammad, Syvester Ngwuta, Kudirat Kekere-Ekun, Amiru Sanusi, Amina Adamu Augie and Uwani Musa Abba Aji.
Olukayode Ariwoola, who is 63 years was born August 22, 1958.
