UMUAHIA, Abia, Nigeria – As members of the All Progressive Grand Alliance APGA, Abia State gear up for the governorship primaries of the party on Sunday, there is the need for proper retrospection.
Abia, a state christened God’s Own state, has continuously been mismanaged by people without vision over the years. The ruling People’s Democratic Party, PDP has in the last 21 years imposed governors on the good people of the state.
Gregory Ibe is a man who has demonstrated his commitment, love and care for the people of the State. A strong stakeholder in Abia enterprise, a man who has all his investments in the state , employing Abians to key positions
They have grossly and mischievously treated the citizens with utter negligence and contempt. The party has allegedly over the years manipulated the electoral process and planted never-do-well as governors. We are suffering and we will continue, if proper actions are not taken to remedy the ugly situation.
Given the woes that we have suffered in the hands of PDP in the state, this is the time to sit down and think about the party and the person that would save the state from stagnation and retrogression.
Abia APGA has the golden opportunity to offer to the people a governor who can deliver and turnaround the architecture of the state for progress and success. The party must not toy with this golden opportunity. There is a need to look beyond clans, towns and other sentiments to elect the best at its governorship primaries election on Sunday.
There is a need to look for a man with reach, capacity and financial muscle to wrestle power from PDP in the state. The best man that is better than the rest is Prof. Gregory Ibe. A man who has demonstrated his commitment, love and care for the people of the State. A strong stakeholder in Abia enterprise, a man who has all his investments in the state , employing Abians to key positions .
Abia APGA needs a movement that can be led by a person like Prof. Gregory Ibe for purposeful leadership and directions in the state. Ndi Abia APGA must shine their eyes in this Sunday’s primaries because any mistake will cost the party a great opportunity.
This is the time to distinguish the best from “the good and better”.
