Shun Anambra religious politics, PFN tells Charles Soludo
ONITSHA, Anambra – Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria PFN has advised the incoming governor of Anambra state Prof. Charles Soludo not to continue with the existing religious politics in the state.
PFN said that Soludo is God sent to rescue the state from it’s numerous challenges Member, National Advisory Board of PFN Bishop Paul Nkwachukwu gave the advice during the weekend at the Alaigbo sunrise prayer crusade held in Awka Anambra State.
Rev. Paul Nkwachukwu who is founder and Bishop of Grace of God Mission said Anambra state has over the years enmeshed in religious denominational politics which according to him was not healthy for the state.
He said that the incoming governor must shun and address the ugly practices that has been ravaging governance in the state over the years .
“Religious politics is one of the major problems in the state and there is need to address it frontally. I know that Soludo will address it. In the Bible there is nothing like Anglican and Catholic or others” he said. He also advised the incoming governor not be afraid of religious leaders and traditional rulers if he wants to succeed.
According to him, “Soludo needs our repentance and supports, if we had supported him to victory , we must pray him to succeed “.
He said Soludo will surprise the world if he shuns religious politics in the state , noting that he was sent by God to rescue Anambra state .
Meanwhile , the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, Anambra state chapter has commended the state chairman bishop Dr Moses Ezedebego for the wonderful way he has been piloting their affairs over the years.
In a statement signed by 21 local government chairmen of PFN ,they appreciated the sterling leadership qualities of the chairman.
According to the chairmen , under the leadership of Ezedebego,the state PFN has witnessed unprecedented level of progress and achievements.
“Today we are more united as a family in Anambra PFN than ever before, among our fathers there is love, peace and harmony, more churches are participating unlike before when there was rancor. Ezedebego gave PFN a befitting Secretariat, today we no longer hold our meetings in different churches but in our own office (Secretariat).
The PFN hospital received a facelift and a boost. Suffice it to say that under Ezedebego leadership the state government recognizing PFN more by appointing some of us into government positions, the state government recognized some PFN hospital and gave them subventions, these are Ezedebego efforts and it is not taken for granted.
Under the leadership of Bishop Moses Ezedebego Pentecostals came out of their shield in terms of policies, he organize political leadership times without numbers” they said
Speaking on behalf of the PFN Anambra state Rev. Steven Ogbu said that bishop Moses Ezedebego has done well for them and he should be allowed to continue in office for second time .
“When some body does well in office ,he needs to be encouraged. We were passing through a lot in PFN Anambra but since he assumed leadership we started witnessing positive things in the fellowship. The state chairman has done well and we want him to continue in office ” he said.
He also said that the PFN is praying that Soludo would eliminate religious politics in Anambra state for the hood of everybody .
