    Court grants bail to Mompha, social media billionaire

    IKEJA, Lagos, Nigeria – A Special Offence Court sitting in Ikeja, Lagos today granted, social media personality, Ismail Mustapha better known as Mompha bail in the sum of N200 million with two sureties in like sum.

    Justice Mojisola Dada who granted the bail ordered that one of the two sureties must be owner of landed properties worth N100 million in Lagos and must be gainfully employed within the jurisdiction of the court and show proof of tax payment.

    The judge also ordered Mompha to deposit his international passport with the Registrar of the court. Mompha will however remain in custody in any correctional centre of his choice pending when he is able to perfect condition of his bail.

    Justice Mojisola Dada then adjourned for accelerated hearing for March 28th , 29th and April 4th and 6th, 2022.

    Mompha is being tried by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC on an eight count charges of aiding internet fraud and being in possession of fraudulent documents.
