KANO- A Sharia Court located within the Kano State Hisbah Board in the Sharada area of Kano, has sentenced eight individuals dressing like women to three months of imprisonment at a Correctional Center.
The court also provided them an option to pay a fine and be flogged 10 strokes of the cane.
This sentencing was the result of the accused individuals admitting their guilt during their arraignment before the Hisbah Sharia Court.
The presiding Judge, Khadi Tanimu-Sani, issued the following verdict for each of the defendants: they were to receive 10 lashes with a cane, pay a fine of N20,000, and present one surety or face a three-month imprisonment in a correctional facility.
The eight cross-dressers had been apprehended by the Kano State Hisbah Board’s operatives.
