BORNO, Nigeria – At least 30 people have been killed in bomb explosion in Gamboru, Borno State, Aljazeera has reported.

It is not clear who carried out the attacks. But Borno State is known as the main base of the Boko Haram Islamic sect, which has continued to terrorise the region.

So far, no group has claimed responsibility for the attack. The attack took place few hours after members of the sect were reported to have ambushed the Commander of Operation Lafia Dole, Major General Olusegun Adeniyi

According to reports, Major General Adeniyi was ambushed at 7:20 Pm, few kilometres away from Jakana on his way from Maiduguri where he had gone to vist troops.
