UGHELLI, Nigeria – Delta State Governor, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa has visited Ohoro community in Delta State ravaged by tanker explosion in Ughelli, Delta State.
At least 25 houses, besides valuables were burnt beyond recognition when a tanker conveying petroleum product exploded.
According to eye witness report, a trailer lost control in motion and collided with a petrol laden tanker parked on the side of East-West Road.
The tanker exploded, spilling its content in the surrounding, the resulting fire torched about 25 buildings in the area. A total of four persons were killed by the explosion.
The governor who was at the scene of the incident commiserated with the community on the fire incident and stated that appropriate steps will be taken to help reduce the effect of the inferno on victims and their families.
