APGA fires back at Nicholas Ukachukwu for Insulting Ojukwu, Bianca

AWKA, Anambra – The National Coordinator of the APGA Media Warriors Forum, Evangelist Chinedu Obigwe, has condemned Nicholas Ukachukwu, the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate for the upcoming November 8, 2025 Anambra election, for making disparaging remarks about the late Igbo leader, Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu.
Obigwe’s reaction came after Ukachukwu appeared on Channels TV, where he claimed to have contested against Bianca Ojukwu, the wife of the late Ojukwu, for the Anambra South Senatorial ticket and defeated her.
Obigwe described Ukachukwu’s statement as one of the “greatest insult” to Ojukwu’s memory and accused him of spewing shameless falsehoods on national television.
He further alleged that Ukachukwu secured his party’s nomination through manipulation, specifically citing the 2023 APGA senatorial primary election in which Ukachukwu allegedly swapped authentic delegate lists with fake ones.
According to Obigwe, Ukachukwu’s emergence as the APC candidate for the November 8 governorship election was also shrouded in controversy, as it was followed by mass defections and resignations from the party.
Obigwe dismissed Ukachukwu’s claims of being a political godfather in Anambra, labeling him a “shameless saboteur” who consistently undermines his opponents.
Obigwe expressed confidence that the incumbent Governor, Charles Soludo, would win the upcoming election, attributing it to his good governance and the electorate’s desire for continuity.
Obigwe’s statement read in part:
“As I pen down this piece, authentic APC party executives are resigning from the party in protest over the way Ukachukwu emerged as their party’s candidate.
“The fact remains that Nicholas Ukachukwu is shameless, and that is the singular reason he appeared on national TV to make those wild claims.”
“As far as I am concerned, Nicholas Ukachukwu knows nothing about governance, and no sensible electorate in Anambra State would vote for him.”
“I must also emphasize that he lied about being a political godfather in Anambra State.
“To the best of my knowledge, Ukachukwu suffers from the ‘it must be me at all costs’ mentality.”
Obigwe continued, stating:
“If he contests a primary election and loses, he sabotages the efforts of the primary election winner in the general election. He did this to many PDP candidates, and that was why Nyesom Wike openly accused him of destroying Anambra PDP.”
“When Ukachukwu contested for the PDP ticket against Governor Soludo and lost, he went to the Hope Party to sabotage Soludo’s chances of winning the election.
“In 2013, when he contested for the PDP ticket and lost to Tony Nwoye, he sabotaged Nwoye by supporting Obiano to win the election against him.
“I see Ukachukwu as a shameless saboteur, not a godfather.”
“As an APGA BOT member, he tried to execute his sabotage plan within the party to take control of the party leadership from Governor Soludo, but Governor Soludo smartly thwarted his evil plot.”
“This failure led him to defect to the APC, where he manipulated the primary election process to emerge as the APC candidate.”
“It was easy for him to manipulate the APC primary because Basil Ejidike, the Chairman of the party in Anambra State, can be influenced to do anything.”
Obigwe’s statements have stirred up political discourse as the November election draws near, with questions surrounding Ukachukwu’s political influence and leadership credibility.
