Syria membership restored to OIC

JEDDAH, Saudi Arabia – The Council of Foreign Ministers of the Member States of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation, convened in its Extraordinary Session in Jeddah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, on 7 Ramadan 1446 A.H., corresponding to 7 March 2025, reinstating Syria back to the fold.
Referring to the final communiqué of the Fourth Extraordinary Islamic Summit held in Makkah al-Mukarramah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, on 26–27 Ramadan 1433 A.H, corresponding to August 14–15, 2012,
Referring to the request of the Syrian Arab Republic to take the necessary measures to reinstate its membership in the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation,
Pursuant to the powers of the Council of Foreign Ministers set forth in Article 10 of the Charter of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation,
Decides:
The Reinstatement of the Syrian Arab Republic’s Membership in the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).
Assigns the Secretary-General of the Organisation to take the necessary measures to implement this resolution and submit a report thereon to the next session of the Council of Foreign Ministers.
