Trump’s proposal on displacement of Palestinians is racist, smacks of ethnic cleansing – Hamas

GAZA, Palestine – The Islamic Resistant Movement in Gaza has described the repeated statements of President Donald Trump about displacing the Palestinians as racist, smacking of ethnic cleansing.

The group said Trump is orchestrating ethnic cleansing under pretext of reconstruction.

“We reiterate our rejection of the statements of US President “Donald Trump” regarding the displacement of our people from the Gaza Strip under the pretext of reconstruction”, Hamas said, adding that Trump’s statements are racist and a call for ethnic cleansing, with the aim of liquidating the Palestinian cause and denying the established national rights of our people.

“The plan to deport our people from Gaza will not succeed, and will be confronted with a unified Palestinian, Arab and Islamic position that rejects all displacement plans.

“Our great people in Gaza have stood firm in the face of the bombing and aggression, and will remain steadfast in their land, and will thwart all plans for displacement and forced deportation”, Hamas said.

According to Hamas, what the occupation failed to achieve through aggression and massacres, it will not succeed in achieving through liquidation and displacement plans.

The statement noted that Hamas is committed to the ceasefire agreement which was sponsored and guaranteed by the mediators (Egypt, Qatar and the United States), and witnessed by the international community.

“We confirm that the occupation is the party that did not abide by its commitments, and it bears responsibility for any complications or delays”.
