Security beefed up at LAHA as Obasa plans to storm assembly with policemen

IKEJA, Lagos- The Lagos State House of Assembly is currently under siege by security personnel ahead of plans by the ousted speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. Mudasiru Obasa to storm the house and forcibly resume as Speaker.
Explaining the siege, Acting Clerk of LAHA, Mr. ATB Ottun said, the siege was at the instance of the assembly.
According to him, the house is in receipt of information regarding the intention of the impeached speaker to invade the house and resume duty on Tuesday, February 18, 2025.
The letter to the SSS reads in part:
“I wish to bring to your attention a pressing matter that requires immediate action. The impeached Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly plans to resume to office on the 18th of February 2025 as the Speaker, posing a potential security threat to the assembly and its members.
“In the light of this situation, we kindly request that you take necessary measures to fortify the security of the Assembly premises with effect from Sunday 16th February 2025 by increasing the presence of your men and as well observe a strict access control within and outside the Assembly premises till further notice”, he said.
