IKEJA, Lagos – Even as President, the eyes of President Bola Tinubu appears to be in Lagos and it appears he is bent on controlling the state from Abuja.
Recall that Hon. Mudasiru Obasa who was impeached for misappropriation and for spending N17 billion on the gate of the Lagos House of Assembly rushed to meet the President.
He had boasted that he remains the Speaker even after his impeachment and election of Hon. Princess Mojisola Lasbat Miranda as Speaker of the House.
It is now clear that the corrupt and impeached Speaker is returning with the backing of Mr. President.
To prepare the ground for his inglorious entry to LAHA, the newly elected Speaker, Meranda has honourably stepped aside.
In her resignation letter dated February 17, 2025, Meranda said she is stepping aside by resigning and to rejoin her colleagues as a floor member.
Her letter is with immediate effect.
“With your unflinching support, I made history as the first woman to become the Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly and I value and cherish the solidarity freely given to me.
“My esteem Honourable members… I am sincerely grateful to each of you for your support and collaboration during my short but very interesting tenure.
“I leave this position to rejoin you on the floor of this hallowed chambers as honourable member, representing Apapa 1 Constituency.
“I shall continue to serve the good people of Apapa 1 Constituency in particular and our teaming Lagos in general”, she said.
