TEL AVIV – Failure of Israeli settlers in Occupied Northern Israel to return after they were evicted by a barrage of rockets by the Islamic resistance in Lebanon and Palestine has become a source of worry to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
Recall that in December last year, Chief of General Staff in the Israeli Defence Forces, IDF, Lieutenant General Herzi Halevi had expressed disappointment with the residents for refusing to return to enable Israel celebrate total victory over Hezbollah.
He has said “To truly win, to achieve long-term victory, is to have many residents living here (northern Israel), vast tourism, to reopen the restaurants and cafes that used to be here, to have people coming to settle, agriculture flourishing—everything thriving”.
We gathered that the Benjamin Netanyahu led Israeli government has resulted to woo the residents who have refused to return with money.
According to Hebrew sources, the government has prepared a welcome package of 15,000 Shekels almost USD 5000 for every settler who returns to his home in northern occupied Israel.
