JORDAN – The Jordanian Foreign Affairs Minister, Ayman Safadi has rejected proposal put forward by President of the United States, Mr. Donald Trump to the effect that Egypt and Jordan should allow displaced Palestinians since Gaza has been devastated with all infrastructure in deplorable state.
Replying Trump’s proposal, the Jordanian Foreign Affairs Minister Ayman Safadi Jordan rejects the displacement of Palestinians, and that this is remains the firm position of Jordan.
According to him the solution to the Palestinian issue is a Palestinian solution, adding Jordan is for Jordanians and Palestine is for Palestinians.
“We look forward to working with the new US administration to support peace efforts in the region”, he said.
The Jordanian minister reacted just as reports emerge that Israel is preventing displaced Palestinians from returning to Northern Gaza in defiance of the ceasefire agreement.
There are reports that tens of thousands of Palestinians waiting to cross into the north were attacked with live bullets.
But the Palestinians appear to be defiant and ready to give up their lives for Gaza as they gather in large numbers chanting:
“We were born here, and here we will die, Gaza is our land and we will not leave it.”
“Death in our land is more honorable than living in exile.”
“We will not leave Gaza, it is the soul and the homeland.”
“On this land there is what is worth staying, and we will stay.”
“Gaza is our pulse, and our dignity is in our steadfastness.”
“We will not leave, here is our pride and dignity.”
“If we die, we will die free on our land.”
