IDF confirm death of police officer, 2 others in shooting incidents in West Bank

WEST BANK – The Israeli Defence Forces, IDF has confirmed the death of a police Sergeant and two others in the shooting incidents earlier today in the West Bank.
According to the army, three Palestinian gunmen from the Jenin carried out the shooting operation in the village of al-Funduq in the West Bank.
According to their initial probe, the three Palestinian armed with rifles first opened fire on a car at a close-range, killing two.
They thereafter opened fire on a bus further away, injuring eight passengers.
We gathered that it was while they were withdrawing, following counterattacks that they opened fire on another car, killing Master Sgt. Elad Yaakov Winkelstein, an investigator at the Ariel police station.
The IDF believe that two of the gunmen are known to them and have been on the wanted list for their involvement in resistance activity, while the third is still unidentified.
