LEBANON – Secretary General of the Islamic Resistant in Lebanon,Hezbollah, Sheikh Naim Kassem has assured Lebanese that the Resistant Forces will compensate every resident of Lebanon whose homes were damaged by Israel’s war on Lebanon with sums ranging from $12,000 to $14,000 annually until their homes are rebuilt.
The Hezbollah Scribe who made the affirmation in his speech said $14,000 will be paid to affected residents annually if they lived in Beirut and $12,000 annually if the affected resident lives in any other places in Lebanon.
He said the money will cover their rents and furnishing in their temporary residence adding that nobody will live in schools or shelters.
Sheikh Naim Kassem said about 1.1 million Lebanese were displaced by the war which he described as the most brutal warfare against Hezbollah since 1982.
Here are some highlights of his speech.
“We faced the most aggressive war launched by the “Israeli” enemy since 1982, aimed at dismantling the Resistance. However, we stood firm and engaged in the battle of Uli al-Ba’as (Those of Might), emerging victorious after enduring weeks of displacement and destruction, by God’s Grace.
“The victory was driven by several factors: the resilience of the Mujahideen, whose unwavering perseverance left the world in awe; the sacrifices of the martyrs, especially our greatest martyr, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, whose martyrdom gave us momentum and led us to triumph; and the ability of the Resistance to rebuild its leadership structure, which ensured the effective management of the Uli al-Ba’as battle.
“By thwarting the enemy’s aggression and preventing them from achieving their goals, the Resistance triumphed. We then agreed to an agreement that ended the aggression on Lebanon, which incorporated an execution mechanism of UN Resolution 1701. This resolution demands no clear weapons presence south of the Litani River. It also mandates the complete withdrawal of “israeli” forces from Lebanese territory and the restoration of all Lebanese land within a defined time frame” he stated, adding that the internal mechanisms between the Lebanese Army and the Resistance remain under its control, neither “israel’s” nor any external committee.
“Despite this, “israel” has breached the agreement over 60 times, and it is the responsibility of the Lebanese state to address these violations while the Resistance remains patient to ensure the agreement does not fail”.
The Hezbollah Scribe hinted that the current phase involves rebuilding the properties destroyed during the war.
“This is both a promise and a commitment to fulfill the pledge made by our martyred Sayyed.
“Over 1.1 million civilians were displaced during the conflict, and while they received financial aid, compensation will be provided to those whose homes were damaged or destroyed. Those whose primary residences were completely demolished will receive $14,000 annually if they live in Beirut, or $12,000 if they live in other areas, to cover rent and furnish their temporary residences until their homes are rebuilt. No one will remain in schools or shelters”, he said, adding “we are grateful for the generous support of the Iranian government, the managements of the shrines, the PMF (Popular Mobilization Forces), the Iraqi government, and Ansarullah in Yemen, all of whom contributed to aiding the displaced”
He also commented on the situation in Syria, noting that it is alarming, with the aggression being sponsored by the US and “israel,” using Takfiri terrorists as tools to strip Syria of its role as a supporter of the Resistance.
He said Hezbollah will continue to stand by Syria to thwart this aggression.
“However, the question remains: Has the time come for the Arab and Muslim nations to rise up? A victory for “israel” is a loss for all, and its repercussions will extend beyond Palestine, Lebanon, and Syria.
“We are witnessing a dangerous expansionist plot by the “israeli” enemy. I call on everyone to support the Resistance in order to confront and overcome these challenges together”, he said.
