WASHINGTON – President-elect of the United States, Mr. Donald Trump has picked a die-hard anti-Palestinian State, Mike Huckabee as the U.S Ambassador to Israel.
Trump said of him: “He loves Israel and… the people of Israel love him. He will bring about peace in the Middle East
Mike Huckabee, who was a former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee is widely regarded as pro-Israel conservative and has not at anytime hidden his hatred for a Palestinian state in its present location, sharing boundary with Israel.
Huckabee has been a vocal supporter of Israel throughout his political career and a longtime defender of Jewish settlements in the occupied West Bank.
While running for President of the United State in 2008, Mike Huckabee suggested that if a Palestinian state were to be created, it should be in neighboring countries like Egypt, Syria or Jordan, rather than within Israel’s borders.
“Basically, there really is no such thing as — I need to be careful about saying this, because people will really get upset — there’s really no such thing as a Palestinian… There’s not.”
He was also quoted as saying:
“You have Arabs and Persians. And there’s such complexity in that. But there’s really no such thing. That’s been a political tool to try and force land away from Israel.”
