Trump or Harris, America decides

LAGOS, Nigeria – Eligible voters in the United States of America are now filling out to cast their votes to pick who will be their president in the next four years. They are to decide between candidate of the Republican Party, Donald Trump Jnr and that of the Democratic Party, Vice President Kamala Harris.
Donald Trump was a former President of the United States, while Kamala Harris is a serving Vice President. It is a tall order for the Americans. Trump ruled the United States from January 2017 to January 2021. His reign is seen as one of the most peaceful of Republicans in the annals of American history.
His economic policy was robust and he ended up creating millions of job. His mantra was “America First and Make America Great” and he did all he could to protect America without going to war but his antics after he lost the election to President Joe Biden in overtly encouraging his followers to storm Capitol Hill is seen as the lowest point in American history. His most popular supporter is the richest man in the world, Elon Musk.
Kamala Harris on the other hand will make history if he wins the election and will become the first American lady, black for that matter to rule the most power country in the world. She is charismatic, and very winsome with her alluring smiles. But not many would want to trust her with the economy of the most powerful country in the world.
Although, she is flying the card of the democratic party, her service under Joe Biden, who is seen as a war monger could be one of her greatest undoing. Under the Joe/Biden and Kamala Harris regime, over 53,000 Palestinians have been slaughtered, a quarter being children. The government she serves has no doubt condemned the genocide in Gaza, but it appears the government is two faced, unable to match words with actions.
While condemning Israel, it continues to supply lethal weapons to the Benjamin Netanyahu regime, which had been deployed in decimating and annihilating the Palestinians under guise of going after Hamas. The Biden/Harris regime showed itself vehemently as the clog in the wheel of progress at the United Nations Security Council , UNSC when nations moved to halt the bloodshed in Gaza by putting spinners on all resolutions aimed at ending the war. The administration has also spent billions of tax payers’ money on funding the war in Ukraine and fighting Russia by proxy and it appears the trend will continue if Kamala Harris wins. His staunch supporters are former Presidents, Barrack Obama, his wife, Bill and Hilary Clinton and some notable musicians.
Just like Harris, Trump also showed a lot of support for the Iron Clad American policy with Israel but he appears to be a man of peace and has assured the Arab community in the United States that he is for peace. He has also vowed to stop funding the war in Ukraine to end the war that has lingered for years now.
Harris on her part said she will not stop talking about Gaza but has not been able to say something that would convince voters that her policy will be different from that of Joe Biden, who has also clamped down on peaceful pro-Palestinian protesters across the United States, including New York. But who will the Americans choose? The next 24 hours will tell.
Their chances as Americans go to Poll
As Americans prepare to cast their votes in one of the most divisive elections in recent history, the fate of the nation hangs in the balance.
Donald Trump, a larger-than-life personality known for his controversial rhetoric and unconventional political style, has dominated the political landscape since his unexpected victory in 2016. His presidency has been marked by a series of divisive policies, ranging from immigration reform to trade wars, which have deeply divided the American public. Trump’s unwavering confidence and willingness to challenge the status quo have earned him both fervent supporters and vocal critics.
On the other side of the political spectrum stands Kamala Harris, a rising star in the Democratic Party and the first woman of color to serve as vice presidency. Harris, a former prosecutor and California senator, brings a wealth of legal and political experience to the ticket. Her campaign has focused on issues such as healthcare, racial justice, and economic inequality, aiming to appeal to a diverse coalition of voters.
The Trump-Harris race has been characterized by intense polarization, with each candidate representing distinct visions for the future of America. Trump’s supporters praise his business acumen, his commitment to “America First” policies, and his ability to shake up the political establishment. On the other hand, Harris’s supporters applaud her commitment to progressive values, her record of fighting for social justice, and her promise to restore dignity and decency to the White House.
The election’s outcome remains highly uncertain, with both candidates enjoying strong support from their respective bases. Trump’s base, largely comprised of conservative voters and those who feel economically left behind, remains loyal to his brand of politics. Harris, meanwhile, has rallied a diverse coalition of progressives, minorities, and those seeking a more inclusive and compassionate leadership style.
As Americans head to the polls, the nation finds itself at a crossroads. The election’s result will have far-reaching implications for domestic and foreign policy, shaping the direction of the country for years to come. Will Trump’s populist appeal and unwavering confidence carry him to a second term, or will Harris’s progressive agenda and commitment to unity prevail?
The answer lies in the hands of the American people, who will decide the fate of their nation through their votes. As the campaign season comes to a close, the country holds its breath, awaiting the outcome of this historic and highly contested election.
