JEDDAH – The  Organisation of Islamic Cooperation, (OIC) Secretary-General, H.E. Mr. Hissein Brahim Taha has welcomed the ceasefire agreement reached concerning Lebanon, and called on all parties to adhere to the agreement by fully implementing the UNSC Resolution 1701 in its entirety.

In a statement, the Secretary-General reiterated full support for Lebanon’s stability and the exercise of its sovereignty over all its territories, while also urging the provision of the necessary humanitarian aid to meet the needs of the affected people, ensure the return of displaced persons, and reconstruct the war-destroyed areas.

The Secretary-General expressed hope that this agreement would be a step toward achieving an immediate cessation of the aggression against the Gaza Strip and all the occupied Palestinian territory.

In this regard, the Secretary-General renewed his call for the enforcement of international legitimacy resolutions concerning the situation in Palestine and the occupied territory, particularly enabling the Palestinian people to realize their right to self-determination and the establishment of the Palestinian State, with East Al-Quds as its capital.
