55 dead, 156 injured in Israel’s overnight bombing of Lebanon

BEIRUT – The Israeli Defence Forces, IDF on Wednesday intensified bombing of Lebanon, extending far into central Beirut and in the process killing well over 55 civilians. At least 156 other civilians were injured in the bombings, the Lebanese Health authority has said.
According to the figures released, 22 civilians were killed in Nabatieh Governorate while 47 injured. In Baalbek-Hermel Governorate, 11 civilians were killed, while 19 others were injured.
In Dahye, which has been bombed severally, where Hezbollah leader, Hassan Nasrallah was killed, three civilians were eliminated, while 33 others were injured . Four injuries were also reported in the Beqaa governorate. The authority added that 95 civilians were killed on Tuesday, in bombings across Lebanon, while 172 others were injured.
Meanwhile, the IDF has said that following the sirens that sounded between 13:01 and 13:03 in the upper Galilee area, approximately 40 projectiles were identified crossing from Lebanon into Israeli territory and that some were intercepted, and several fell in the area.
The statement added that between 12:09 and 12:12 in the western Galilee area, numerous suspicious aerial targets crossed from Lebanon into Israeli territory but that they were intercepted.
“Following the sirens that sounded between 13:07 and 13:09 regarding a hostile aircraft infiltration in the upper Galilee area, a suspicious aerial target was identified crossing from Lebanon into Israeli territory and falling in the area.
“Over the past few hours, the IAF continued to strike Hezbollah terror targets in Lebanon, including weapons storage facilities, terrorists, observation posts, and terror infrastructure sites in several locations along southern Lebanon”.
