NLC demands immediate reversal of recent increase in price of PMS

ABUJA, Nigeria – The Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC has called for immediate reversal of recent increase in the price of Premium Motor Spirit, PMS across the country.

The NLC made the demand following reports of increase in the price of PMS from N568 to a litre of petrol to N855 per litre in petrol stations run by Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation Limited,NNPCL.

The NNPCL also adjusted the price of diesel downward from N1200 to N1150 per litre.

This comes as queues at petrol stations have elongated across the country and have persisted for months.

What followed was revelation from Group Managing Director of NNPCL, Mr. Mele Kyari that the corporation is owing international suppliers money to the tune of USD6 billion and therefore unable to meet its obligations to international partners.
