Music legend, Elton John has health challenges hindering musical tour

LONDON – The 77 year old Iconic musician, Elton John is not having the best of time. The British singer is reported to have gone blind as a result of eye infection.

The legendary singer reportedly suffered the infection during the summer and has since been left with limited vision in one eye and he is now recuperating at home.

The musician did not embark on his usual tour last year for health reasons.He is said to be getting better but it will take some time to restore his eyesight.

Born to Reginald Kenneth Dwight on March 25, 1947, in Pinner, Middlesex, England, he was raised in a conservative family with a passion for music

He began playing piano at age 3 and attended Royal Academy of Music. He formed his band Bluesology in the late 1960s.

He released his debut album “Empty Sky” in 1969. He achieved fame with his 1970s hits like “Your Song,” “Crocodile Rock,” and “Rocket Man”.

Elton John is known for flamboyant stage presence, extravagant costumes, and distinctive voice. He has won 5 Grammy Awards. He married David Furnish in 2014 and had two sons via surrogacy.

He has been gay since 1988 with his philanthropic efforts are focused on AIDS research and LGBTQ+ rights. He has sold over 300 million records worldwide. Elton John’s impact on music and popular culture is immeasurable.
